About DOLA
DOLA is a fine jewellery brand rooted in Yoruba heritage. Founded in London by a Nigerian-British designer, DOLA exists in a space that did not exist before it: contemporary luxury jewellery that is unapologetically African and uncompromisingly fine.
DOLA is a Yoruba name. It means turned to wealth. The name was chosen deliberately. When you look at luxury jewellery, you see French names and Italian names. DOLA is a Yoruba name in that same space. Not explained. Not translated. Just there.
The Design
Every element of a DOLA piece is designed. The clasp. The hinge. The tag at the end of the necklace. Nothing is placed without a reason.
The Idola mask that appears across the collection is an original DOLA design, drawn from a deep study of West African mask-making tradition. The AMI collection hides the brand name inside each link, referencing the Yoruba concept of ami, the tone mark that changes the meaning of a whole word. These are not decorative choices. They are the design.
DOLA's founder studied art throughout her education. Her final project was the art and evolution of fashion. That way of thinking, that nothing in a work is placed without intention, shapes every piece made under this name.
The Materials
The Oriki Line is DOLA's fine jewellery collection. Every piece is handmade to order in solid sterling silver, 9ct yellow gold or 18ct yellow gold. Natural diamonds are used throughout the gold collections. The sterling silver pieces are set with moissanite.
DOLA does not use gold plating. The brand spent years doing gold plating at the highest micron available before accepting the truth: plating wears off. It is not a quality issue. It is the nature of the material. So DOLA stopped. Now it is either sterling silver or solid gold. Nothing in between. Because jewellery should last.
9ct gold was introduced to make solid gold more accessible. 9ct gold is real gold. It lasts, it can be repaired, and it can be handed down. The same designs, the same natural diamonds, the same standard. A more accessible entry into solid gold.
Made to Order
Every DOLA piece is made after you order it. Not pulled from a shelf. Made for you. This means almost anything can be adjusted before production begins. Different length, different stones, different size. Usually at no extra cost. Just ask.
